Standardised solar systems often do not meet the architectural requirements. TEXEP provides custom solar solutions to individualise existing systems or develop new solutions that meet the desired design of the building.

Not a Hotel Setouchi is a luxurious vacation home and hotel complex on the remote island of Sagishima (Hiroshima Prefecture) in Japan. Opened in April 2026, the complex is the first architectural project in Japan completed by the renowned Danish architectural firm BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group).
The design combines Scandinavian simplicity with traditional Japanese aesthetics. The roofs of the 180°, 270°, and 360° villas feature Texep X-Curve Sparkling Gray solar modules, which seamlessly integrate the resort into the rolling coastal landscape.
The resort is based on the fractional ownership concept typical of the Not a Hotel brand. Owners purchase usage rights for a specific number of nights per year; the rest of the time, the villas are rented out to guests as exclusive hotel accommodations.

CityWave Milan, Italy

CityWave is a forward-thinking, sustainable architectural project in Milan’s CityLife district, scheduled for completion in late 2026. Designed by the renowned Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in collaboration with Atelier Verticale, the complex consists of two office buildings connected by a spectacular, 140-meter-long, curved canopy. It features over 11’000 TEXEP X-Curve solar modules with a total performance of 1.5 MW.

Residential house in Solothurn: The roof of this beautiful residence in the picturesque canton of Solothurn was originally covered with traditional plain tiles.
A customised solution was developed to ensure that the elegance and aesthetics of the stately country house were not lost through the new solar modules: The choice of terracotta-coloured solar tiles, which were harmoniously matched to the original roof design in terms of both size and colour, preserves the timeless elegance of the building while at the same time enabling sustainable energy generation.
Almost 1’000 terracotta-coloured solar tiles were used, achieving a total output of 65 kWp.

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, a new electric vehicle and battery manufacturing facility, is planning to start production in early 2025. Its car park is covered with a canopy out of 20’000 solar panels, generating 5.5 Megawatt of energy. The PV panels use the Kromatix color technology and color the roof with green, grey and blue tones.

Saint Charles Solaire remains one of the most significant PV installations worldwide realised with building-integrated PV elements. Under the leadership of André Posnansky, the owner and CEO of TEXEXP Ltd, the nine buildings of the logistics centre with an area of over 68’000 m² were renovated using building-integrated photovoltaic shingles, creating a solar power plant with an output of 9 megawatts.
